Alex Stewart Carter

Approximately three decades in the Decorative Arts world has led me through a wonderful maze of careers and gathering of skills.  I have been fortunate enough to learn from some true Masters in their field.  Two decades running my own Picture Framing Studio introduced me to Gilding, Faux Finishes such as marbles and woodgrain along with a variety of other skills.  Moving to the States with my family in 2001 led me to discover Decoupage under Glass, and I became intrigued and soon hooked by the whole effect and never looked back!  It is such fun to do and with the endless design possibilities it is a very satisfying craft to learn.  I have been practicing this tecnique and building my Studio firstly in the USA and now in the Cotswolds for the last 20 years.
