2-Day Beginner Decoupage Course with Alexandra Stewart Carter
An Introduction to the Wonderful World of Decoupage Under Glass
Discover the fascinating — and, we have to warn you, highly addictive — craft of Decoupage under Glass with artist Alexandra Stewart Carter.
Very different from the traditional decoupage once seen on trays, lamps and tucked away in Granny’s attic, this beautiful technique opens up a whole new world of creative possibilities. No previous experience is needed — just an enthusiasm for creativity!
Over two days, Alexandra will guide you through the basics of this captivating craft. You’ll learn how to handle, cut and glue designs, as well as explore the different papers, paints, glues and varnishes used to create beautiful finished pieces.
All materials are provided, along with a choice of designs, allowing you to concentrate on learning the techniques and enjoying the process.
There will also be an introduction to simple gilding using metal leaf, exploring the many ways it can be incorporated to add something truly special to your work.
Create Two Beautiful Pieces to Take Home
During the workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to choose two pieces from the following:
- Small bowl – featuring a double-sided design, something quite unusual in the world of decoupage.
- Small hurricane vase – perfect as a decorative pot or, as Alexandra uses them, as a beautiful base for candles.
- Match stick holder – a new option, designed to hold your matches with a striker on the bottom. Practical, pretty and wonderfully unique!
Each piece makes a gorgeous personalised gift or a decorative addition to your own home.
