2-3 Friday/Saturday October 2026 10:00-4.30Two Seasonal Workshops with award winning artist James Naughton — Returning to The Limes
Join artist James Naughton for two inspiring seasonal workshops exploring the beauty and meaning of trees and clouds.
Designed for painters of all levels, and with all materials provided, each workshop blends clear, practical teaching with gentle reflection on why these subjects move us so deeply. Drawing on James’ own paintings and making the most of the exceptional setting of The Limes studio, you’ll develop new techniques while learning to think and see more imaginatively — bringing greater sensitivity, atmosphere, and expression to your work.
Spring Workshop March 20th–21st: Trees – The Reliable Architecture of Nature
In Spring we explore the living structure of trees — their rhythm, form, and texture. From root to leaf, you’ll learn to balance observation with interpretation, creating paintings that capture both strength and character.
Autumn Workshop October 2nd–3rd: Clouds – The Fleeting Poetry of Air and Light
In Autumn our attention turns skyward. We’ll study how to paint light, movement, and atmosphere — learning to use clouds not merely as background, but as the emotional heart of a painting.
Spring: Trees – The Reliable Architecture of Nature March 20th–21st : £295
Autumn: Clouds – The Fleeting Poetry of Air and Light: October 2nd–3rd: £295
