Kim Coley

Kim Coley is a Yorkshire based artist whose distinctive style is evident in her striking paintings and prints.

She works energetically often using mixed media to create works inspired by the abundance of life still to be found in British hedgerows.

She is particularly interested in the natural world and conservation.

Life drawing

For 12 years Kim Coley taught life drawing at Sunnybank Mills in Farsley with artist Mel Davies.

She qualified as an Art teacher in 2016.

Kim uses “visual songwriting” as an analogy for the creative process and is interested in the tensions between observation and expression, truth and wishful thinking.

On the courses at The Limes you will learn observational skills and be given the opportunity to develop them using a variety of drawing exercises.

You will also be encouraged to experiment and play with media and ideas to develop your own expression.
