Weave Your Own English Willow Foraging Basket

Come and learn to weave a small English willow foraging or berry basket using traditional basketry techniques. This enjoyable, hands-on workshop is suitable for beginners, though good manual dexterity and strength are needed β it may not be suitable for those with hand conditions such as arthritis.

Pegging a handle
Youβll also have the option to finish your basket with a leather handle (available for a small additional charge, payable on the day).
What to Bring

A pinny/apron or clothes you donβt mind getting a bit messy

No open-toed shoes (sharp tools will be in use)

Fiona Arnold is a Yorkshire-based basket maker with a deep passion for historic baskets. Her work draws inspiration from historic paintings, traditional designs, and repairing old baskets, paying homage to long-gone makers and their craft.
Fiona is proud to be a QEST Emerging Maker 2024 β supported by the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust, a charity dedicated to promoting excellence in British craftsmanship.
