Jenny McCabe is an artist and printmaker based in Lancaster, in the North West of England. With over 25 years of experience creating and exhibiting original prints, she also teaches regularly in print studios across the UK.
Her work explores structure, tone, and the expressive potential of simple materials. From the angular forms of stone heads to the dynamic compositions of familiar birds, Jenny’s prints celebrate shape, rhythm, and character through strong design and expressive mark-making.
Working primarily with intaglio printmaking techniques—especially collagraph and metal plate etching—she embraces the tactile and transformative qualities of the process. Cardboard, metal, and scrap materials are repurposed into striking artworks that reveal how form and composition can carry narrative and emotion.
Drawing is central to Jenny’s practice. Her energetic, spontaneous sketches capture the essence of her subjects, particularly birds and wildlife, whose movement and vitality inspire much of her recent work.
Through her prints, Jenny explores the balance between precision and spontaneity, celebrating the beauty of materials and the storytelling power of printmaking.
