Courses & Workshops @ The Limes
We are delighted to be up and running having had our first floral workshop and our Wine club evening for which we are grateful for the lovely feedback. Weekly Classes start soon and we have plenty in store in the coming months.
Workshops with visiting artists and makers.
Our workshops are led by artists and makers who are not only experts in their fields but are also experienced educators who are enthusiastic about sharing the secrets of their practice and techniques. There are a selection of 1, 2 and 3 day workshops throughout the year. Our gift vouchers are redeemable against workshops as well as art works from the Gallery.
Ceramics workshops with the talented Jill Ford commence on April 18th when she will run a day masterclass working with porcelain and oxides.
Due to the popularity of the first three day printmaking workshop with Emerson Mayes we have now added another in June 20-22nd (1 place left at time of writing). It is wonderful to see that people are coming from as far as the States and New Zealand to learn his techniques.
Derrick Santini you may have read about in the press recently is returning to his roots, coming back to Yorkshire and we are delighted that his work is on view at our gallery and his Made Britain Great will also be able to be viewed in Scarborough in May.
We are very privileged that the talented landscape painter James Naughton will be sharing his knowledge and methods during a 2 day Landscape in oils workshop on 16th and 17th May. A workshop I am particularly interested in having admired his work for many years.
For the gardeners out there, on 11th May we will be hosting the lovely Fiona Arnold of Braythorne baskets who will be teaching us how to make willow obelisks to support your plants in the garden. (I can’t wait!).
One of our new gallery artists, Erin Ward who creates beautiful large scale abstract landscapes and seascapes has kindly offered to run a workshop, Abstracting the Landscape in September (12/13th). An experienced artist and educator she will be sharing her techniques and methods of abstract acrylic painting.
Other workshops will be added to the programme through out the year so please sign up to our mailing list to be the first to receive dates and news.
The studios are purpose built and materials are provided for workshops, however please feel free to bring your own equipment if you like.
Lunch and refreshments are provided for day workshops and are included in the course price. Please email sarah@thelimes.online with any dietary requirements at least a week in advance of your visit.
The studios are easily reached by road, rail or bus Weeton station and the bus stops are a 5 minute walk away. If you require picking up from the station please email Sarah.
All our workshops have limited availability so please book early to avoid disappointment. If your chosen course or workshop is sold out please contact Sarah if you would like to be put on the waiting list.
For those combining a workshop with a stay in glorious Yorkshire, Rudding Park Hotel has very kindly offered to give our participants a special rate at their award winning hotel which is less than 10 minutes away. www.ruddingpark.co.uk
